I didn’t set out to become an Airbnb “expert.” I just had a space, needed extra income, and started figuring it out.
Some years were modest. One year we cleared €8,000 in profit from a single listing — real profit, after cleaning costs, platform fees, and supplies. Another year, our Airbnb income paid for business class flights to Japan for the whole family. I still think about that trip.
Along the way I also learned what doesn’t work — bad pricing strategies, underestimating the importance of reviews, choosing the wrong model for my situation. I made those mistakes so you don’t have to.
